This blog will feature a sneak peak at my most recent work, details of current promotions, and a few photography tips in the mix. My goal is for this blog to be an honest representation of my work that will bring a smile to the faces of my past, current, and future clients.

Connor’s 1. {Springfield Baby Photographer}

Today is a special day.  It’s Connor’s First Birthday.  He is my first client to graduate from the Milestones First Year Photography plan.  In honor of Connor’s birthday, I wanted to share a few of my favorite moments from each of our sessions.

Connor@ Brand New: I first photographed Connor while he was still in the hospital.  We rearranged the hospital furniture a little and used natural light from the windows.

Connor@ One Week: The outdoor photographs from Connor’s newborn session still remain as some of my favorites.  We quickly jumped outside in front of Connor’s home and I was so pleased with the outcome.

Connor @ 3 months:  By 3 months, Connor had started showing his personality more and I just couldn’t resist his cheeks or eyes.  We also captured some great family shots at the park.

Connor@ 6 months:  This cutie’s sixth month session included his Halloween costume, outdoor Fall portraits, and holiday photographs. 

Connor@ 9 months: Connor’s 9 month session didn’t include as many smiley pictures but I love his inquistive and serious looks, too.

 Connor Celebrating ONE!  Connor absolutely loved his cake session.  It would be safe to say he enjoyed it from head to toe.

I had a wonderful time watching Connor grow and change over the past year.  I hope that I get many more opportunities to photograph him as he continues to grow into a sweet little boy.

New Product Feature: Custom wallets

I’m always looking for ways to make my clients’ sessions and photographs more personalized.  After all, that is one of the main perks of custom photography.  Custom wallets are a wonderful addition to the products already offered by Captured by Sarah and they are great fun to design.  I think any parent or grandparent would be proud to show off one of these.  Stay tuned to see custom wallets featuring Seniors and used in a few surprising ways.

Kaydence. 7 weeks. {Baby Photographer in Tulsa}

Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph this beauty in Tulsa.  The first half of our session featured her Indian blanket to highlight part of her ethnic heritage.             

Kaydence’s grandma brought her for her session and is true with almost all newborn sessions, our session took a little longer than expected.  Kaydence wanted some extra time to eat, fuss a little, and enjoy keeping us all on our toes.  I find one of the keys to success in photographing babies and children is large doses of patience. 

Although, this baby girl was wide awake for the majority of our time together, eventually she nodded off and we captured a few sleepy shots to add to all the others showing her gorgeous, dark brown eyes.  As part of the Milestones Photography Plan, Kaydence will be featured every three months.  I look forward to watching her grow and I can only imagine how much hair she’ll have by the next time we meet.

Emme. 6 months. {Springfield Baby Photographer}

We had such a great time at Emme’s 6 month session.  She made my job easy and her mommy, Jenny, is developing a cute style for her daughter.  I’ve so enjoyed watching Emme grow and change between each of our sessions and love knowing that her family will have so many wonderful images to remember her first year.

Product Feature: Print Albums

March 2, 2010 – 4:25 pm

One of the best values I’m currently offering is the 4×6 print album.  The album features twenty prints from your session that are chosen by you.  Each page is a 4×6 print in a heavy duty mat.  The pages are spiral bound in a professional TAP album.  The album is a $79 value available for $40.

Although the albums come boxed, my challenge of the day is for all my past customers who have albums hiding in a box to get them out and put them on display.  Pick up an inexpensive easel from your local arts&crafts store and each day you can choose a new page to display.

Hello in Tennessee {Springfield Baby Photographer}

Recently, I was working on a few storyboards for baby Kirsten’s family.  You may remember her from her newborn session.

I realized that I never shared Kirsten’s 3 month session.  It’s hard to believe but this session was less than three weeks before Emiana would arrive. 

Kirsten’s aunt and cousin were visiting and were able to be a part of this session as well.

Kirsten’s parents, Scott and Mageveny, actually moved their family to Tennessee last week.  However, Tennessee is just a stop along the way as they work towards a new chapter in their lives working with students overseas.   We’ll be thinking and praying for you as you venture out on a new journey.

Emiana. 10 weeks {Mommy Photographer}

Sharing some current photographs of our sweetie!  We pulled out the equipment for a little session this past weekend.  It was also a fashion show of sorts since we are now completely out of the newborn size.  As I was preparing the photos for this post, I looked back at some photos from Emiana’s first week for comparison.  I’m with her everyday and it is still hard to believe how much she has changed already.  We’re just hoping her eyes stay blue like her Daddy’s.  Only time will tell.

It’s about time

It’s about time that I got back to business around here and it is quickly piling up on me.  However, before I move on I wanted to share some photographs from my time at home with our daughter, Emiana.  These photographs were taken about a month ago and she has changed so much since then. 

My husband, Hal was able to take six weeks off work to be at home with us after Emiana’s birth.  I can’t even begin to explain how incredible it was to have him with us and how much it meant to me.  Although I’m beginning to feel more adjusted to life as a mommy, it has been far more challenging than I imagined.  I’m so blessed to have such an amazing partner and daddy for our girl.

Thinking of Aunt Linsey

A special photo session today as we are thinking of our sweet Aunt Linsey.  She is currently on her way to her next overseas deployment with the US Air Force in Afghanistan.  We know her and Uncle Jake both strongly believe in what they do in service to our country but it still can not be easy to be away from your family and friends, especially at the holidays.

We discovered that Aunt Linsey is a wonderful cuddler when she came to visit us at the hospital.  How thankful we are that Emiana made her arrival before Aunt Linsey’s deployment so they could enjoy some special time together.  Our Air Force teddy with these dog tags were a gift from those visits.

Aunt Linsey,

We’ll be thinking of you and praying for you and your comrades as you serve to protect us.  Thanks for making sacrifices everyday.  We’ll do our best to keep some up-to-date photos on the web so you can watch your niece as she grows and hold her tight when you return.
