Baby Emmerson. Adorable. {Springfield Newborn Photographer}

There are times when I can hardly wait to get home from a session to see the outcome.  I knew during baby Emme’s newborn session that we were catching some incredible images but it was still surprising when I saw the variety of all the sweet images captured.  Newborn sessions require a lot of patience and are often time consuming as this one was but it’s all worth it in the end.

Newborn sessions usually occur on location at the home of the new little one.  On this occasion, we started in this sweet girl’s ladybug nursery and then moved to the deck on the back of their home.  I loved that we were able to use all natural light which provides a much softer look on the sometime sensitive newborn’s skin.

Before her birth, baby Emme was chosen as the baby girl 2009 Newborn Representative for Captured by Sarah Photography.  So, you can look forward to watching her grow over the next year and her images will be featured in promotional items.

Now that Fall has arrived…{Springfield Family Photographer}

I have to share a few photographs from a summer session that I never had a chance to show on the blog.  This Summer I had the opportunity to meet with the 9 grandkids of the W family at the Jordan Valley Fountains for a “beach party” themed session.  Last year around the same time, I met with the family for a “cowboy” themed session.  Since then, a new grandson has joined the gang and the kids have grown so much.  It is great fun to compare photographs of kids from year to year as they grow so fast.

As you can imagine, photographing nine grandchildren together can take a little extra time and patience from everyone involved.  However, these kids are incredible and I thoroughly enjoy my time with them.  So, a special thanks to my child wranglers for the day and I look forward to discussing and planning for next year’s theme.

Generations of Family. Together.{Springfield Family Photographer}

I’ve known Doug and Stacey for several years so I was honored when they chose me to capture their family photographs this year.  The photographs from this session will be cherished by many as both the maternal and paternal grandparents joined us.  I know it can be challenging for families to arrange their schedules and make travel arrangements.  However, I love the thought of Doug and Stacey’s girls, and many generations yet to come, enjoying these photographs.

After rescheduling once due to rainy weather, the weather turned out perfectly and the gardens at Nathanael Green Park were in full bloom.

I also wanted to share one of the storyboards created for this session.  Storyboards usually feature three or more photographs combined on one print, in this instance a 10×20.

I can’t leave this post without a special Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. McCown who are celebrating their golden 50th wedding anniversary.  Many families never have the privilege to celebrate fifty years together so here’s wishing you many more wonderful years to come.

Privileged. Baby Kirsten. {Springfield Newborn Photographer}

One of the best parts of my job is being privileged to work with such sweet families.  I had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful couple on the night before their daughter was born.  I’m so glad this gorgeous mama decided to call for some last minute maternity photographs.  We had a wonderful time and I returned a week later for Baby K’s newborn session.

Before…

And After…

This baby girl weighed over 9 pounds at birth and was 22 inches long.  Her skin was particularly dreamy for a newborn and I thought she had a very doll like appearance especially in the basket shots.  The day of this session it was pouring and we had little to no natural light to work with.  However, with a little added lighting, we were able to capture some wonderful photographs that I hope Baby K and her family will admire as she grows.

As I have experienced lately, the time when you’re expecting a little one can pass quickly.  Be sure to capture all the memories with a maternity session, customized birth announcements, and a first year photography package.  I will be accepting maternity and newborn clients until the end of October before taking some time off to prepare for our baby girl.
