Family of 3+, Part II: Sweeping Hills and Belly Beauty

These gorgeous photographs do not need a lot of explanation.  I’ve had these photographs in mind for a long time.  Thank you, Amy for allowing me to share my vision with you and your family.  The feel of the photographs fit your pioneer woman spirit well.

If you are expecting or know someone who is, I’d love to shot more maternity sessions in natural settings such as this locale at Wilson’s Creek.  The best time for this type of photography is 6-10 weeks before the baby’s expected arrival.  View all the photographs from this session Tyndall Family 3+ Gallery.

Family of 3+

I’ve been so anxious to showcase these photographs on my site.  It is such an exciting time in the life of the Tyndall family, as this gorgeous family will be welcoming a new baby boy in the next few weeks.  You can read more about the daily adventures of life with a toddler, while expecting, on Amy’s Garden.  So without further ado…

This beautiful little lady is going to be such a great big sister.  As with any two year-old, these quiet moments with Mommy are few and far between so I’m so glad we captured this one.

There is no doubt that Lydia looks like her handsome Daddy.  Look at those identical big brown eyes and smiles.  Now the question that remains to be answered, will baby Luke resemble his handsome Daddy or his gorgeous Mommy?

Keith and Amy are dear friends and great parents and we are so excited for them.  Although I’m sure it will return to her finger soon after Luke’s birth, Amy’s wedding ring is currently featured as a necklace.  And so the inspiration for this photographic duo.

Party of Five and a magic wand

There are times when a magical wand would come in handy.  When this handsome Bolivar party of five arrived at the park for their session, Alyssa, Taylor, &Daniel each had their own thing in mind and it wasn’t necessarily the same thing!  So poof out comes the magic wand…Okay, not quite.  After trying all types of tricks, the result was a few great family pictures, some comedic relief, and a session the family won’t forget any time soon.

“If we all do our own thing, maybe Sarah will use the magic wand.”

That’s better!

The next two are my favorites.  I love the candidness.  See all the photographs in the Party of Five Gallery and decide which ones are your favs.

Matt& Annette, Thanks for sticking with me.  Hopefully, you’ll have selective memory and you’ll remember only the good things especially these great photographs of all of you together.   Then, surely it won’t really be forever before you have pictures again.

Derrik, Senior ’09

As promised, a few more from Derrik’s Senior session at Ritter Springs park.  We tried to take advantage of some of the unique locals of this park and came away with some interesting shots.  The suspension bridge was a little more of a hike than we expected and we discovered much of it had been washed downstream but it still provided some fun and defintely added interest to our day.

My personal favs from this session were the ones that combined Derrik’s athletics with the natural backgrounds.  The color in these and many others from the day was great.

Opportunity NOT missed

There were several things that stood out to me about the S Family’s Fall session at Ritter Springs park.  I’ve known Barb &Sam for several years and have always been impressed by the way they interact with their three children.  What stood out to me about this session were all of their smiles, laughs, and their great use of color.  We had a great time hiking all over this park taking some traditional and NOT so traditional family photographs.  However, none of these things left the same impression on me as the fact that this family did something many families miss out on. They did NOT miss an opportunity that will not happen again.  Derrik, Barb&Sam’s eldest son, is a high school Senior this year and they wanted to make sure they had family photographs together to remember this important time in their lives.

NOT so traditional

If you live in the area and have never had the opportunity to explore Ritter Springs, now is the perfect time of year for it.  Visit the Ritter Springs Fam Gallery to see what other areas of the park we explored and stay tuned for more of Derrik’s Senior ’09 photographs.  More importantly, take an opportunity today to do something that you’ve been waiting to do, whether that is scheduling your family photographs, making a phone call, or taking some time for yourself because time is passing faster than we think.

Family session answers frequent questions

I’m most frequently asked “What should we wear?” and “What location do you suggest?”  When I met the B Family at Nathanael Greene park for an early morning session, they looked great and I knew they would exemplify the answer to these two questions.  It had been many years since this family had been photographed together and never in a custom photography situation.  So, the pressure was on for these to be great.  I hope they enjoy…

One of the many reasons that I love this park is because of the smorgsaboard of scenery it offers, including a more urban look with the tracks and bridges.  Although it was a little sunny and Kati (8) was concerned that we were breaking the rules, the resulting photographs added variety to the session.

I knew one of Jami and Josh’s concerns before the session was if I would be able to capture any great shots of Kevin (7) who tends to be a little too cheesy.  Well, he provided me with several good laughs but in the end it worked out wonderfully.  A laughing photographer leads to camera blur but enjoying my job is worth the time needed for a few extra shots.

Of course, this park is best known for its beautiful gardens of all sorts.  This area in the hosta garden offers a gorgeous natural backdrop at all times of the day.  I love how  the flowers in the corner pop with the family’s coordinating brown and orange color scheme.  Don’t miss the opportunity to smile (and perhaps giggle a little) while viewing the many more photographs from this session.  This family is also featured on C3 Card Design #10: Tidings, see this designer and nine others being offered this year here.

Sometimes it all goes right

My recent sessions with Stephanie, Morrisville ’09 Senior, made my day, my week, perhaps my month.  It’s amazing how sometimes everything comes together and the end result are photographs like these…

Stephanie is a gorgeous talented young lady with a bright future ahead.  We met on two different days, once in center Springfield and again at her school so we could focus on her athletic photographs.  Stephanie has a great smile that radiates her beauty and we had such a fabulous time together.

Special thanks to my “assistant” for these sessions.  One of the most important aspects to Wow photographs is great light and just as we were finishing up downtown, the light was…

Lest you think she’s all smiles, Stephanie is fierce when on the softball field or basketball court.  I wanted to be sure and capture her intensity and I think her eyes said it all…

There are many more beauties to been seen here.  And Stephanie, Thanks for making me SMILE and I hope in some tiny way these photographs help you realize that your beauty matches your incredible character.
